Join the Starlink Aviation team to ensure the highest standards for our global connectivity products. You will perform hands-on inspections and manage documentation for hardware, working directly with engineering and supply chain teams to support our mission. In this capacity, you act as the final gatekeeper for quality, safeguarding the integrity of critical aerospace assemblies. You will exercise ownership over the inspection process from receipt of parts through final sign-off, ensuring compliance with stringent aerospace requirements. Your work will directly influence the reliability and safety of systems that support both aviation and ground operations. You will drive continuous improvement by identifying trends in defects and collaborating with cross-functional partners to eliminate recurring issues. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Your contributions will help maintain the operational tempo necessary to meet ambitious production and delivery timelines.

What you'll do
- Examine electrical and mechanical assemblies with precision, comparing each component to CAD models, detailed drawings, and internal specifications to confirm exact conformity.
- Conduct thorough inspections at off-site repair and installation locations, adapting procedures to varied field environments while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Monitor production activities closely, tracking anomalies in real time and documenting non-conformances with clarity and accuracy for further review.
- Partner with engineering professionals to investigate complex quality issues, providing detailed findings and supporting data to facilitate timely corrective actions.
- Manage and update quality management system documentation, ensuring all records reflect the current state of inspections, tests, and approvals.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to streamline inspection workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency without compromising quality.
- Perform detailed reviews of incoming materials and components, verifying that supplier deliveries meet established performance and specification criteria.
- Utilize technical drawings and CAD models as primary references, ensuring every measurement and alignment matches design intent down to the smallest detail.
- Support the implementation of process improvements by piloting new inspection methods and validating their effectiveness within the production environment.
- Maintain readiness for weekend and overtime work, responding swiftly to production demands and operational needs as they arise.
- Escalate critical quality concerns to higher levels of management, ensuring that appropriate authorities address potential risks swiftly and effectively.
- Contribute to internal audits and quality initiatives, sharing insights gained from inspections to elevate standards across the team.
- Coordinate closely with supply chain partners to resolve discrepancies, ensuring that material issues are resolved without disrupting workflow.

Requirements
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, providing a foundational level of education necessary for understanding technical procedures.
- Bring a minimum of 2 years of quality control experience in production or manufacturing settings, demonstrating a track record of adherence to standards.
- Possess the ability to lift 25 lbs without assistance, ensuring you can handle standard components and equipment safely.
- Maintain the capacity to stand for at least 8 hours per shift, supporting sustained focus and productivity throughout the work period.
- Confirm availability to work weekends and overtime as required, aligning with operational needs and production schedules.
- Meet U.S. citizenship or qualifying immigration status, including lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, to satisfy ITAR export regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols and workplace compliance, protecting yourself and those around you.
- Show reliability in attendance and punctuality, recognizing that consistent presence supports team objectives and operational continuity.
Nice to have
- Accumulate 4 or more years of manufacturing inspection experience, bringing advanced knowledge and a refined approach to quality challenges.
- Earn an Associate or Bachelor degree in an engineering or technical field, deepening your understanding of the systems you will inspect.
- Apply background in root cause analysis and participation in material review boards, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Show familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.

Practical notes
Compensation is based on experience and role level: Level 1 ($27.00 - $33.00/hour), Level 2 ($31.00 - $39.00/hour), and Level 3 ($36.00 - $45.00/hour). Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and stock options or long-term incentives. Employees receive 3 weeks of vacation plus 10 or more paid holidays. Shift options include 1st shift (5:30AM - 4:00PM) and 2nd shift (3:30PM - 2:00AM). Company shuttles are available from select Seattle locations to the Redmond office.
