What you'll do
- Execute final and in-process examinations on mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subassemblies to validate integrity.
- Scrutinize propulsion and structural hardware to confirm adherence to all established design and testing specifications.
- Log and process any production or test anomalies with precision to maintain accurate historical records.
- Liaise with internal engineering and production teams to address and resolve emerging quality concerns efficiently.
- Supervise technical operations in real time to provide immediate guidance and ensure strict compliance with NASA and internal standards.
- Inspect components and systems to verify that all installation and assembly procedures meet rigorous quality benchmarks.
- Utilize inspection tools and gauges to measure dimensions, alignments, and conditions of hardware components accurately.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection processes and reliability.
- Document all inspection findings comprehensively to support traceability and future analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of status reports detailing the quality and readiness of hardware for upcoming test campaigns.
Requirements
- Possess a High school diploma or equivalent as the minimum educational qualification.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of inspection experience within aerospace, military, or manufacturing sectors to ensure technical proficiency.
- Exhibit the ability to work night shifts consistently, specifically Monday through Friday (4:00pm to 2:30am) or Friday through Monday (4:00pm to 2:30am).
- Show a willingness to work overtime as required to meet production and test schedules.
- Successfully pass an Air Force background check for the Cape Canaveral site to meet security requirements.
- Maintain the physical capability to climb ladders and navigate tight workspaces in potentially challenging environments.
- Hold authorization to work in the United States as required by ITAR regulations.
- Comply with all SpaceX policies regarding safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Nice to have
- Hold an Associate degree or higher in engineering, quality, or a related discipline to deepen technical understanding.
- Possess an FAA airframe and power plant license indicating specialized knowledge in aerospace systems.
- Demonstrate familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, avionics, electrical systems, and propulsion principles.
- Bring experience with aerospace structures and ground support equipment to the role.
