About the role
This role processes Falcon 9 flight vehicles through processing, assembly, and launch to enable rapid and reliable rocket re-use. The work supports making human life multiplanetary by ensuring flight readiness on the ground and at the pad. You will own the hands-on integration and testing of flight hardware, directly translating engineering designs into physical vehicle assemblies. The position requires you to lead on-site operations and troubleshooting to resolve issues that could delay launch timelines. You will act as a critical link between design, manufacturing, and launch execution teams. Clear communication is essential as you explain complex vehicle states to cross-functional partners during high-pressure scenarios. What you'll do
Falcon 9 flight vehicles are processed, assembled, and launched to enable rapid and reliable rocket re-use.
New and flight-proven vehicle assemblies are assembled, integrated, and tested through hands-on leadership and direct support.
You will conduct detailed inspections of vehicle components to verify integrity before and after transport operations.
Fluid systems are purged, tested, and conditioned to ensure proper performance in the demanding space environment.
Electrical harnesses and data acquisition systems are configured, monitored, and validated throughout the testing phases.
Test procedures are executed and documented to confirm that vehicle subsystems interact correctly under various conditions.
You will coordinate closely with logistics teams to manage the flow of materials and tools at the integration facility.
Hazardous high-pressure systems are handled with precision to maintain safety and operational continuity.
You will support pad operations to ensure vehicles are ready for final countdown and successful launch windows.
Requirements
The posting states a pay range of $100000 to $140000.
A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
At least 1+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or fluid systems in design, manufacturing, or implementation phases is required, and class projects or internship experience qualifies.
U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status under ITAR is mandatory for access to Vandenberg Space Force Base.
The physical effort of standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 35 lbs.) is required.
Overall mental fitness is required to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment that may involve extended work hours.
Shifts must be flexible, and occasional travel may be required.
Access to Vandenberg Space Force Base requires passing an Air Force background check.
