About the role
SpaceX is seeking a skilled Windows Systems Engineer with a background in Microsoft technologies, complemented by knowledge of networking and Linux systems. This position is part of the Information Technology team, where you will support internal staff and maintain critical infrastructure. What you'll do
- Collaborate with IT administrators and engineers to identify requirements, explore solutions, and implement enterprise software platforms tailored to meet the needs of engineering teams.
- Design and build systems that are , high-performing, and capable of scaling effectively.
- Modify enterprise technology standards for application in smaller, air-gapped environments.
- Suggest and execute enhancements while adhering to established change control protocols.
- Work across various business units to create solutions and proactively address issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation that outlines standards, testing methodologies, and implementation procedures.
- Create scripts and automation tools to resolve recurring operational issues efficiently.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex systems and applications.

- Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices in all IT operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users as needed.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize functionality.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems, or 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- At least 3 years of experience managing Windows servers in both physical and virtual enterprise environments.
- A minimum of 3 years working with Active Directory, Kerberos, and multi-platform authentication systems.
- At least 1 year of experience with networking technologies and Linux systems.
- A minimum of 1 year of scripting experience.
- Must possess an active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, though travel will be less than 10%.
- Availability for extended hours and weekends as required by project demands.
Nice to have
- Experience in designing scalable and repeatable architectures that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
- Practical experience in setting up, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting Windows services such as DHCP, DNS, IIS, MS-SQL, and NPS.
- Familiarity with enterprise deployments of Microsoft Exchange.
- Knowledge of source code management and version control systems.
- Background in configuration management, provisioning, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server 2016/2019, particularly in relation to AD, DNS, and DHCP.
- Networking expertise, including IPv4, switching, routing, firewalls, and high-availability designs.
- Ability to operate critical and sensitive systems with the necessary urgency.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers, vendors, and leadership.
