About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and upkeep of essential telecommunications and cabling systems that support our launch sites, production facilities, and spacecraft operations. Your focus will be on managing the physical network infrastructure, which includes fiber and copper cabling, voice and video communication systems, as well as RF telemetry. Your efforts will ensure that our Falcon, Dragon, and Starship programs are always mission-ready.

What you'll do
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot both fiberoptic and copper network infrastructures tailored for IP-based systems.
- Collaborate with construction and production teams to coordinate project timelines, aiming to reduce operational downtime during installations.
- Manage telecommunication projects by utilizing design change requests and analyzing power monitoring data to ensure efficiency.
- Conduct electrical system evaluations, which include load tracking, breaker coordination, and arc flash studies to maintain safety and reliability.
- Supervise the procurement process for materials and manage contracts with external construction vendors to ensure project alignment.
- Provide expert technical support to field technicians during the installation and maintenance of equipment to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain documentation of network infrastructure changes and updates, ensuring all records are accurate and accessible.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry trends and technologies related to network infrastructure.
Requirements
- Possession of a BICSI RCDD certification or a bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering, particularly with medium or high voltage power systems, is required.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees to comply with ITAR regulations.
- Ability to successfully pass Air Force background checks for access to Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg facilities is necessary.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Capability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions and confined spaces, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Nice to have
- Over 5 years of professional experience in designing or constructing commercial telecommunication systems, including LAN, WAN, WIFI, LTE, and ISP/OSP structured cabling.
- Familiarity with high-density commercial structured cabling systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of low voltage AC and DC applications relevant to IT equipment would be beneficial.
- Experience with critical power infrastructure components such as UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches is a plus.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or Revit is desirable.
- Understanding of the National Electric Code, NFPA, and International Building Code is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ANSI, TIA, and BICSI cabling standards is a plus.
- Background in construction project management, including budgeting and scheduling, is advantageous.

This position may require extended working hours, including weekends, and occasional travel as necessary.
