Key facts
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain test hardware and software systems to assess mobility network components effectively.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues in real-time, providing actionable feedback to mitigate future occurrences.
- Perform root-cause analysis on any non-conformances and work closely with engineering teams to establish testing requirements for flight hardware.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to create and refine systems for testing Starlink hardware.
- Develop and enhance software applications focused on data acquisition and control processes.
- Document test procedures and results meticulously to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Participate in design reviews and provide insights based on testing outcomes to influence future designs.
- Support the integration of various systems and components, ensuring they meet performance specifications and operational requirements.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
- At least one year of professional experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing, which can include internships, co-op placements, or relevant projects.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees to comply with ITAR regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and performance in testing environments.
Nice to have
- A master's degree in an engineering field would be advantageous.
- Experience in testing propulsion, thermal, electrical, or structural systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with composite materials and avionics integration processes.
- Knowledge of configuration management practices and documentation standards.
- Proven ability to write comprehensive test plans and procedures, including clear justifications for go/no-go decisions.
- Previous experience in a production setting is beneficial.
- Strong engineering intuition with the ability to navigate ambiguous tasks effectively.

- Strong hardware troubleshooting capabilities and experience with root-cause analysis methodologies.

Practical notes
- The salary range for this position is competitive, with Level 1 salaries between $100,000 and $117,500, and Level 2 salaries ranging from $115,000 to $140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- The total compensation package includes stock options, potential discretionary bonuses, and participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
- Comprehensive benefits are offered, including medical, vision, dental, 401(k) plans, disability insurance, life insurance, and paid parental leave.
