What you'll do
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of hardware, from initial design concepts to mass production stages.
- Establish design specifications and enhance system performance through optimization techniques.
- Develop and implement production lines that incorporate robotics, automation technologies, and control systems.
- Identify opportunities to refine manufacturing processes, aiming to boost yield rates and improve reliability.
- Conduct thorough analyses of production data to drive quality improvements and cost reductions.
- Ensure the maintenance of mechanical systems and manage the servicing of equipment.
- Tackle intricate engineering challenges with straightforward and effective design solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems into broader projects.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product development.
- Document design processes and maintain records to support compliance and future reference.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and technologies relevant to mechanical engineering.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
- At least one year of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing, which may include internships or relevant extracurricular activities.
- Candidates should be graduating between 2026 and 2027.
- Willingness to work weekends and extended hours when necessary.
- Must comply with ITAR regulations: applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), structural analysis techniques, and failure mode assessments.
- Experience using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software tools.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and failure analysis techniques, such as X-ray imaging or cross-sectioning.
- Understanding of design principles that enhance manufacturability and assembly.
- Experience with industrial sensors and production machinery, including injection molding systems, motion control systems, or laser distance measuring devices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in mechanical design principles and practices.
- Experience with electromechanical systems and their applications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process development and optimization.
- Familiarity with CAD and FEA software for design and analysis tasks.
- Understanding of robotics and automation technologies in manufacturing settings.
- Skills in failure analysis to identify and mitigate potential issues in designs.
