What you'll do

• Manage the entire lifecycle of patents, trademarks, and trade secrets associated with semiconductor manufacturing, ensuring robust protection of our innovations.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to assess competitive intellectual property assets and their implications for our strategic goals.
• Work in conjunction with legal advisors to secure essential IP rights for innovative manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Conduct thorough analyses of financial and operational risks linked to various manufacturing strategies, providing insights that inform executive decision-making.
• Draft and maintain standard templates and clauses for IP-related contracts, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.
• Create and develop training materials and playbooks aimed at guiding future strategies for managing manufacturing-related intellectual property.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and partners concerning IP licensing agreements and acquisitions, ensuring favorable terms for SpaceX.
• Structure and implement technical agreements, including those related to supply chains and joint development initiatives, to foster collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of the operational aspects of production.
• At least 3 years of experience specifically within the semiconductor industry, showcasing expertise in this highly specialized field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with senior executives in the semiconductor sector, highlighting strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• At least 1 year of experience navigating regulatory frameworks that govern the semiconductor industry, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.

Nice to have

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school, providing a strong legal foundation for the role.
• An MBA or a similar advanced degree, enhancing business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
• A strong academic background from a prestigious law school, indicating a high level of expertise and knowledge.
• Experience in managing global intellectual property programs, demonstrating an understanding of international IP landscapes.

• This position requires the candidate to be physically present at our Bastrop, TX facility.
