What you'll do

• Follow established production protocols and safety guidelines to ensure a secure and efficient work environment.
• Monitor equipment performance to ensure maximum uptime, addressing alarms or deviations from tolerance standards in real time.
• Perform metrology tasks using Zygo interferometers, optical microscopes, and CMMs to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Execute tool changes according to defined technical processes, maintaining strict adherence to tooling specifications and handling procedures.
• Manage documentation, work tracking, and team communication to provide clear records and support operational transparency.
• Conduct routine inspections of raw materials and finished parts to confirm compliance with engineering drawings and requirements.
• Set up and adjust diamond turning lathes and CNC lathes to optimize cycle times without compromising part quality.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety, efficiency, and compliance with facility standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production data and proposing practical enhancements to workflows.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Availability for 10-hour shifts, including 1st shift (6:00AM to 4:30PM) or 2nd shift (4:00PM to 2:30AM).
• Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime as required to meet production demands.
• Physical capacity to lift 25 lbs, stand for at least 8 hours, and maneuver in tight spaces within the production floor.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR export regulations.
• Willingness to comply with company policies, safety standards, and quality management systems.
• Strong focus on accuracy and consistency when working with high-tolerance components.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with diamond turning lathes and CNC lathe setup.
• Proficiency in handling and inspecting sub-micron tolerance components.
• Knowledge of optics manufacturing and related metrology techniques.

Practical notes

• Pay ranges: Level 1 ($27-$33/hr), Level 2 ($31-$39/hr), Level 3 ($36-$45/hr).
• Compensation includes potential stock options, long-term cash awards, and discretionary bonuses.

• Company shuttles are available for travel between select Seattle locations and the Redmond office on weekdays.
