About the role
In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of the Commercial Launch Sales Team, focusing on market analysis, competitive insights, and the automation of processes to enhance operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Sales, you will work closely with engineering teams to ensure that product development aligns with customer needs and market trends.

What you'll do
- Create and design communication materials that highlight SpaceX's position as a leader in the aerospace sector, aiming to broaden access to space for various stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain comprehensive data models, pipelines, forecasting models, and interactive dashboards to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Employ advanced technical tools to monitor both pre-sales performance metrics and the health of post-sales activities.
- Collaborate with finance, sales, and customer success teams to implement strategic business initiatives effectively.
- Deliver both quantitative and qualitative performance reports to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Curate and maintain a database that captures critical competitive intelligence relevant to the aerospace industry.
- Support sales directors by addressing specific regional and client-focused requirements, ensuring tailored solutions are provided.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the commercial launch sector.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure alignment on business objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute insights derived from data analysis and competitive research.
- Assist in the development of training materials and programs for new team members, enhancing overall team capability.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a business-related or technical discipline, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in roles such as engineering, consulting, product management, operations, banking, or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Willingness to work onsite in Hawthorne, CA, with the flexibility to accommodate extended hours, weekend work, and travel as necessary.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation purposes.
- Familiarity with data manipulation tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Power Query for enhanced analytical capabilities.
- Understanding of the aerospace industry, including knowledge of satellites and launch vehicles, to better inform strategic decisions.

Compensation: The salary range for Level 1 positions is between $80,000 and $100,000, while Level 2 positions range from $90,000 to $125,000.
