What you'll do

• Assist in the planning and design of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions, documenting findings for use in project planning and design.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop detailed engineering plans and specifications, utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any concerns or changes.
• Support the preparation of project proposals, including cost estimates and timelines, to assist in securing new business opportunities.
• Conduct engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering principles.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas to project development and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Up to three years of relevant experience in civil engineering, including internships or co-op positions.
• Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in civil engineering is a plus.
