What you'll do
- Assist in the planning and design of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions, documenting findings for use in project planning and design.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop detailed engineering plans and specifications, utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any concerns or changes.
- Support the preparation of project proposals, including cost estimates and timelines, to assist in securing new business opportunities.
- Conduct engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering principles.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas to project development and execution.
- Ensure that all engineering work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain organized project documentation and records for future reference and compliance audits.
- Work closely with construction teams during project implementation to ensure designs are executed as intended.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Up to three years of relevant experience in civil engineering, including internships or co-op positions.
- Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in civil engineering is a plus.
