As a , you will play a crucial role in the home financing process, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant before the loan is finalized. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including loan officers, underwriters, and clients, to facilitate a smooth closing experience. What you'll do

Review and verify all loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Collaborate with loan officers and underwriters to resolve any outstanding issues prior to closing, ensuring a seamless process for clients.
Prepare closing documents, including the Closing Disclosure, and ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained.
Communicate effectively with clients, providing them with clear instructions and updates throughout the closing process.
Coordinate with title companies and other third-party vendors to schedule closing appointments and ensure timely completion of all necessary tasks.
Conduct final audits of loan files to confirm that all conditions have been met and that the loan is ready for funding.
Maintain detailed records of all closing activities and communications, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure that SoFi remains compliant and competitive in the mortgage market.
Assist in training and mentoring new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the closing workflow and contribute to the development of more efficient practices.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any client concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team culture, fostering collaboration and open communication.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage closing or a related field, with a strong understanding of mortgage processes and regulations.
Proficiency in using mortgage processing software and tools, with a preference for experience with Encompass or similar platforms.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review complex documents and identify discrepancies or issues.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong time management skills.

Nice to have

Experience with remote closing processes and familiarity with e-signature platforms.
Knowledge of state-specific mortgage regulations and compliance requirements.
Certification as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) or similar professional designation.
Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, to better serve a diverse client base.

Skills & tools

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document preparation and communication.
Familiarity with mortgage software systems, particularly Encompass, for processing and managing loan files.
Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during the closing process.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools as they are introduced to enhance workflow efficiency.

Practical notes

This position is based in Charlotte, NC, and may require occasional travel for client meetings or training sessions.
