What you'll do
- Collaborate with loan officers to gather and review all necessary documentation from clients to ensure a smooth loan application process.
- Maintain accurate records of loan applications and client interactions in the company's loan management system.
- Conduct thorough pre-qualifications of loan applications to verify that all required information is complete and accurate.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on their loan status, answer questions, and address any concerns they may have.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations throughout the loan process, including adherence to SoFi's internal policies.
- Assist in preparing loan files for underwriting, ensuring that all documentation is organized and meets the necessary standards.
- Work closely with the underwriting team to facilitate timely loan approvals and resolve any issues that may arise during the underwriting process.
- Provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through the mortgage process and ensuring their needs are met at every stage.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss workflow improvements and share best practices for enhancing the loan coordination process.
- Stay updated on industry trends, mortgage products, and regulatory changes to better assist clients and improve service delivery.
- Support the marketing team by providing insights on customer feedback and trends that can inform future mortgage offerings.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by collaborating with colleagues and sharing knowledge to enhance overall team performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage lending or a related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, loan processing, and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in using loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
