- Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure the integrity and accessibility of data needed for analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the data science workflow to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of SoFi's data strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
Requirements
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- At least 5 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a proven track record of leading data-driven projects.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and experience in building predictive models.
- Excellent understanding of statistical methods and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Proven experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and the ability to present complex data insights effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have
- Experience in the financial services industry or fintech, with a solid understanding of financial products and services.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases for data extraction and manipulation.
- Previous experience in a managerial role, with a focus on team development and performance management.
- Contributions to open-source data science projects or publications in relevant journals.
