Credit Strategy Manager

About the role
This role owns the end to end design and execution of data driven credit strategies for SoFi lending products including personal loan student loan refinance private student loan and credit card. The hire will analyze and evaluate complex data sets to develop and propose value added credit risk strategies and models that align with company objectives. They will collaborate across business units product engineering and capital markets to translate business knowledge into quantifiable risk mitigants and revenue opportunities. The role is responsible for iterating on strategies using real time data ecosystems and documenting results for stakeholders. They will identify gaps and drive actions that balance loss prevention with profitable growth. The position requires bringing new ways of thinking data sources technologies and capabilities to advance SoFi's strategic goals.

What you'll do
Innovate risk strategies by architecting pre screen and underwriting frameworks that define policy and decision logic for new account origination.
Analyze multi product internal bureau third party and alternative data sources to build an optimal real time data ecosystem that powers lending decisions.
Iterate continuously through data driven experimentation and learning to refine models strategies and performance outcomes.
Control credit risk and drive performance outcomes by monitoring portfolio metrics developing approaches to mitigate loss and responsibly growing revenue.
Document analytical findings and communicate results clearly to business partners and senior management while escalating issues and recommending actions.
Identify gaps and opportunities in existing processes and systems then drive cross functional actions to close these gaps and capture value.
Grow the business in partnership with dynamic leaders by contributing to a rapidly expanding lending portfolio and shaping the next generation of financial products.
Lead quantitative analysis using tools such as decision trees regression logistic regression A B testing and Tableau to synthesize insights for stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including business units capital markets product and engineering to ensure strategies support company wide objectives.
Champion data innovation by exploring new data sources analytical techniques and technologies that enhance credit strategy capabilities.
Requirements
4+ years of related experience in credit strategy analytics or a closely related field.
Business acumen and prior work experience in the consumer lending business covering loans or credit cards.
Direct experience in the credit strategy analytical life cycle including strategy development decision tree creation presentation implementation validation and post implementation monitoring.
Proven ability to conduct sophisticated analysis using customer performance data bureau attributes and other third party variables to solve business problems.
Proficient skills in Excel SQL and Python for data manipulation analysis and reporting.
A demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate complex analysis to business partners and senior management effectively.
High motivation to drive results eager to learn and capable of working collaboratively in a fluid fast paced environment.
Knowledge and skills in analytical and modeling techniques such as decision trees regression logistic regression A B testing and Tableau.
Preferred: 4+ years of experience with consumer lending portfolio management and risk analytics in a regulated financial services environment.

Practical notes
Employment is full time based in San Francisco California.
This role requires occasional travel within California for meetings and conferences.
