As a Manager of Government Affairs at SoFi, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's interactions with government entities and regulatory bodies. What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies that align with SoFi's business goals and objectives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state levels that may impact SoFi's operations and strategic initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry associations, and advocacy groups, to promote SoFi's interests.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and product development, to ensure alignment on policy matters and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and present policy briefs, position papers, and other materials to communicate SoFi's perspectives on relevant issues.
- Represent SoFi at industry conferences, government hearings, and other public forums to advocate for the company's positions.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends in financial services regulation to inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to educate and inform SoFi employees about government affairs and the implications of policy changes on the business.
- Engage in grassroots advocacy efforts to mobilize support for SoFi's policy priorities among customers and community stakeholders.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of government affairs initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with external consultants and lobbyists to enhance SoFi's advocacy efforts and expand its influence in key areas.
- Stay informed about competitive landscape and best practices in government affairs to continuously improve SoFi's approach.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related role, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proven track record of successfully engaging with government officials and navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

- Experience working with fintech companies or in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with lobbying practices and regulations at both the federal and state levels.
- Established network of contacts within government agencies, industry associations, and advocacy groups.
