Lead Developer Advocate, SQL & Analytics Workloads

About the role

You will own the developer advocacy strategy for Snowflake's SQL and analytics workloads, shaping how technical communities adopt and succeed with the platform. You will create and deliver technical content, reference implementations, and demos that make Snowflake the default choice for SQL developers, analytics engineers, and data teams. You will represent the voice of the developer internally, translating real-world friction points into actionable product feedback and roadmap input. You will evangelize Snowflake at conferences and in community channels while building programs that scale developer adoption across the EMEA market. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and field teams to turn high-value use cases into enablement assets and continuously improve the developer journey. Ultimately, your role is to redefine how SQL and analytics workloads are enabled and adopted in the era of the agentic enterprise.

What you'll do

Define and drive the developer advocacy strategy for Snowflake's SQL and analytics workloads, aligning technical narratives with product goals and measurable business outcomes.

Create high-quality technical content including tutorials, quickstarts, blog posts, videos, workshop materials, code samples, and opinionated best-practice guides for SQL and analytics workflows.

Design and maintain production-grade reference implementations and demos that show how to use Snowflake for real-world analytics, BI, data transformation, and application development workflows.

Build and scale the enablement experience for developers across SQL, data modeling, analytics engineering, dashboards, pipelines, governance, and performance optimization.

Develop documentation, samples, walkthroughs, and adoption assets for workflows spanning SQL, ELT/ETL, dbt, orchestration, semantic modeling, BI, and analytics application development.

Partner closely with product, engineering, and field teams to identify high-value use cases, develop technical assets, and continuously improve developer workflows.

Represent Snowflake at conferences, meetups, workshops, hackathons, webinars, and community events through compelling talks and hands-on demonstrations.

Engage meaningfully in developer communities across GitHub, Stack Overflow, Slack, Discord, Reddit, and other relevant channels to evangelize Snowflake in the EMEA market.

Establish thought leadership in SQL development, analytics engineering, developer experience, and data application architecture through public content and community interaction.

Serve as a trusted internal advocate for developers by synthesizing feedback from customers, community members, partners, and field teams into actionable recommendations for product and engineering.

Translate recurring friction points, workflow gaps, and adoption blockers into prioritized enablement and product input grounded in real developer behavior.

Define and track metrics for content effectiveness, developer engagement, community growth, and downstream adoption, then use insights to iterate and scale programs.

Partner with product marketing, sales, solutions engineering, education, and customer teams to scale successful narratives, demos, and enablement programs.

Design and run workshops, technical events, and hands-on enablement programs that drive meaningful engagement and product adoption across EMEA.

Continuously refine programs based on measurable outcomes, ensuring that enablement assets drive tangible adoption and trust in Snowflake's SQL and analytics capabilities.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, technical evangelism, solutions architecture, developer education, or similarly hands-on technical roles that involve direct impact.

Operate effectively as a senior individual contributor, demonstrating significant ownership, influence, and cross-functional leadership without relying solely on management levers.

Proven success driving adoption for developer platforms, data products, analytics products, or technical ecosystems through content, programs, and community engagement.

Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to write clear, efficient queries and scripts that solve real-world data problems.

Deep familiarity with modern data and developer workflows, including analytics engineering, data transformation, orchestration, APIs, software development practices, and data application architecture.

Experience building and maintaining production-grade technical assets such as reference implementations, demos, tutorials, and sample applications that others can use and learn from.

Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment where priorities evolve quickly and experimentation is encouraged to discover simpler, more powerful approaches.
