You will own the full lifecycle of features within our investment portfolio management domain, translating ambiguous requirements into production-ready solutions. What you'll do

Investigate and refine complex user workflows in the UI, JavaScript, and back end to support investment portfolio management at scale.

Collaborate with product management to translate business requirements into technical specifications that balance clarity and feasibility.

Analyze intricate domain logic and distill it into straightforward experiences that help financial advisors understand the impact of their decisions.

Rapidly assimilate unfamiliar codebases and system interactions to diagnose issues and implement robust enhancements.

Requirements

Bring 2-6+ years of experience building production web applications that serve real users in live environments.

Demonstrate solid experience building interactive web applications using JavaScript, with a grasp of browser runtime behavior.

Show a strong understanding of computing fundamentals such as algorithms, complexity, and system design principles.

Prove proficiency in Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks, along with the ability to quickly learn our specific stack and conventions.

Exhibit demonstrated ability to understand user workflows and user experience principles to build intuitive interfaces.

Operate competently in a Linux environment, using common command-line utilities, Unix process management, and bash scripting.

Thrive as a strong individual contributor who can gather requirements, propose multiple solutions, and follow through with high-quality implementation.

Practical notes

We prefer candidates who are willing to work in a hybrid environment, with some in-office presence required for those based near Boston.

Candidates located in the Boston area should expect to work in-office 2 days per week for the first 6 months.

Team members based outside the Boston area should plan to travel to Boston for one week at a time several times during the first six months, and then three times per year after that period.

Employment eligibility requires authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, as visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Compensation is structured as an annual salary ranging from $135,000 to $150,000, adjusted based on relevant experience.
