As a Senior Specialist in Accounts Receivable and Credit at Smardt, you will play a role in managing the financial health of our client accounts. What you'll do

• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to clients.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients to facilitate prompt payment.
• Conduct credit assessments for new and existing clients to determine creditworthiness and risk levels.
• Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk and enhance cash flow.
• Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any billing discrepancies and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
• Work closely with the finance team to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage collections for overdue accounts, negotiating payment plans when necessary to recover outstanding debts.
• Provide training and support to junior team members on best practices in credit management and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices related to credit and collections.
• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall financial operations and client service.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to accounts receivable and cash flow projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit management, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English to communicate with a diverse client base.
• Certification in credit management or a related professional designation.
