What you'll do
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define and implement innovative design solutions that enhance user experience across our platforms.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design concepts, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of our development process.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design ideas and user flows.
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and efficiently, providing support throughout the development lifecycle.
- Analyze user feedback and performance metrics to iterate on designs, continuously improving the user experience based on real-world usage.
- Participate in design critiques and team meetings, sharing insights and feedback to foster a collaborative design culture.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep our design approach fresh and innovative.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization, promoting a culture that prioritizes the user experience.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to their professional development, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure that our branding and messaging align with the user experience across all touchpoints.
- Document design processes and decisions to maintain transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in product design or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and functional designs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enabling better collaboration with development teams.
- Experience designing for government or public sector applications, with an understanding of the unique challenges and requirements in this space.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, ensuring that our products are usable by all individuals, including those with disabilities.
- Previous experience with design systems and component libraries, contributing to the establishment of a cohesive design language.
- A background in information architecture or interaction design, enhancing your ability to create intuitive user flows and navigation structures.
