What you'll do

- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into the platform.
- Engage in cross-functional teamwork, including product managers, backend engineers, and data scientists, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Assist in maintaining deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows using tools like GitHub Actions.
- Support the ongoing evolution of the platform by providing frontend expertise in scaling and feature development.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative engineering environment.
- Ensure that the user interface adheres to security and compliance standards, especially considering the sensitive nature of telemetry data.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing web applications and data-driven tools.
- Strong proficiency with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a proven track record of building production-quality applications.
- Deep understanding of web performance optimization techniques and browser rendering processes.
- Experience with modern CSS frameworks, particularly Tailwind, and familiarity with component libraries such as Radix UI.
- Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
- Solid understanding of API design and integration, working closely with backend teams to ensure seamless data flow.
- Experience working with large datasets and real-time data visualization challenges.
- Knowledge of frontend testing and debugging tools to ensure high-quality releases.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with deployment and CI/CD pipelines, especially using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and rapidly learn new technologies as needed.
- Understanding of security standards and compliance requirements relevant to telemetry and mission-critical data.
Nice to have
- Experience with visualization tools such as WebGL, D3.js, or Apache ECharts, especially for scientific or technical data visualization.
- Knowledge of WebAssembly and browser-based computation techniques to enhance frontend performance.
- Background in scientific computing or experience building technical dashboards and data editing environments.
- Prior experience developing tools for technical users, including dashboards, data editors, or similar interfaces.
- Involvement in side projects that have gained consistent user engagement and traffic.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working within regulated environments or with compliance standards relevant to telemetry data.

Practical notes
This is an on-site role based in Marina Del Rey, CA, next to LAX. The company encourages in-person collaboration and team bonding, with the team working together twice a week - on Mondays and Thursdays - and gathering for a full week every two months. Candidates must be U.S. persons, including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals such as asylees or refugees, in compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations. The position offers a competitive salary within the specified range, along with equity and benefits. The company is open to relocating candidates to Los Angeles or considering candidates working from the San Francisco office for the right fit.
