About the role
You will own the end-to-end technical pre-sales process for Sierra's financial services customers, translating complex business problems into clear platform value. You will act as the trusted technical expert, designing demos and articulating business value during every stage of the sales cycle. You will work directly with Sales, Product, and Agent Engineering teams to refine our platform based on customer feedback. You will anticipate customer needs and lead technical architecture reviews in the earliest conversations. You will build deep relationships with executives and technical leaders to drive enterprise adoption. You will ensure Sierra's AI solutions are understood and trusted by critical financial institutions. You will play a key role in transforming the customer experience for the financial services industry.

What you'll do
- GTM technical expert who owns the full pre-sales journey, from scoping use cases to designing demos and leading architecture reviews.
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor that connects prospect business problems directly to Sierra's platform capabilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Drive the enterprise sales process by leading technical discussions, articulating business value, and defining success metrics for financial services customers.
- Partner closely with Sales and Product teams to translate customer requirements into product and engineering feedback that improves Sierra's platform.
- Build and maintain deep relationships with executives and technical leaders at systemically important banks, insurers, and vertically integrated ecosystems.
- Lead high-stakes technical reviews and demonstrations that showcase Sierra's ability to handle moments where private anxiety meets institutional procedure.
- Support the development of AI agents that deliver human customer experiences by providing real-world GTM insights to the engineering organization.
- Represent Sierra in critical conversations involving fraud detection, mortgage pre-approval, and card management where timing and trust are essential.
- Act as a bridge between complex technical implementation and clear business outcomes for leaders across financial institutions.
- Continuously refine the platform based on direct customer interactions to ensure Sierra remains industry-leading in accessibility and safety.
- Own the end-to-end narrative of Sierra's value proposition in financial services through compelling and accurate technical communication.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product development aligns with the evolving needs of enterprise customers in regulated industries.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering or customer-facing technical sales.
- Past experience in demo building, and presenting, and working with customers or clients in the GTM function.
- Experience in relationship-building with potential customers, including executives and technical leaders.
- Experience in leading the sales process with Enterprise customers.
- Ability to connect a prospect's specific business problems and Sierra's solutions and explain them to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Bachelor's Degree or above; bonus if in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
- This role requires consistent in-person presence in our San Francisco office.
- You must be able to pass a background check to access our offices and systems.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in this program.
Nice to have
- AI-related experience (or experience in a similarly modern and highly technical industry).
- Experience translating code, technical logic and user requirements to product and engineering requirements.

- This position is based in San Francisco, California and requires consistent in-person presence.
- Work hours are full_time, Monday through Friday.
- You must be able to pass a background check.
