Staff Field Solutions Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will own the technical articulation of Hivemind autonomy capabilities to defense and security customers across the Middle East, ensuring that mission needs are translated into feasible autonomy architectures. You will serve as the primary customer interface for discovery, demonstrations, and technical briefings that clarify how intelligent systems reduce operator burden in complex environments. You will own the narrative around mission outcomes, shaping RFIs, RFPs, and technical interchange discussions to reflect the realities of regional acquisition and stakeholder dynamics. You will partner closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to build customer-specific solution concepts that align Shield AI's product truth with operational constraints. You will act as a regional expert on autonomy, unmanned systems, and AI-enabled mission software, advising customers on integration pathways for current and future force structures. You will represent Shield AI in partner ecosystems, ensuring that the value of Hivemind is clearly communicated alongside other Shield AI technologies such as V-BAT, X-BAT, and Aechelon. You will maintain currency on regional operational priorities and emerging defense modernization initiatives to support capture activities and long-term customer relationships. You will uphold the company mission of protecting service members and civilians by enabling responsible, mission-capable autonomy that meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will analyze customer mission concepts of operation to define how Hivemind autonomy can be applied across air, ground, and mixed-domain scenarios. You will conduct technical demonstrations of Hivemind in live or simulated environments to validate performance against customer-defined success criteria. You will translate complex autonomy concepts into clear, audience-appropriate narratives for both technical and leadership stakeholders. You will facilitate requirements workshops that capture operational constraints, platform interfaces, and integration considerations for unmanned systems. You will support the development of customer-specific solution proposals that detail how Hivemind meets mission objectives within defined timelines and budgets. You will coordinate with engineering and product teams to address technical questions, data needs, and proof-of-concept requirements during customer evaluations. You will represent Shield AI at industry events, conferences, and government forums relevant to Middle East defense and aerospace modernization. You will maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical feedback, and competitive insights to inform future solution development. You will collaborate with regional partners to validate technical assumptions and ensure alignment with local operational and regulatory expectations. You will contribute to the creation of white papers, technical documentation, and capture materials that reinforce Shield AI's thought leadership in autonomy. You will monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust engagement strategies and highlight the unique value of Hivemind autonomy. You will manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously, prioritizing efforts based on strategic impact and opportunity maturity.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as aerospace, electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related discipline. You have accumulated eight or more years of progressive experience in defense, aerospace, government systems, or related technical sales support roles. You hold citizenship in a country that is a recognized member of the Gulf Cooperation Council or the broader Middle East region, providing deep contextual familiarity. You have direct experience supporting international customer engagements involving unmanned systems, autonomy, or mission-critical software platforms. You demonstrate a strong understanding of regional defense priorities, acquisition processes, and stakeholder ecosystems within Middle East government and security organizations. You are capable of interpreting technical documentation, system architectures, and operational constraints to assess solution feasibility. You communicate effectively in written and spoken English at a professional level, with fluency in Arabic being a significant advantage. You have a proven track record of working within regulated environments where security, export control, and compliance considerations are central. You are comfortable operating in dynamic, mission-focused settings where rapid adaptation and clear judgment are essential.
Nice to have
You have prior experience with Shield AI products, including V-BAT, X-BAT, or Aechelon simulation and synthetic reality technologies. You hold a security clearance or have completed similar vetting for government work. You have worked directly with defense prime contractors, system integrators, or regional aerospace organizations. You have supported international travel in the Middle East region, including familiarity with local operational tempo and partner expectations.
