About the role
This role is an integral part of the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), concentrating on the development and execution of cloud security strategies while advocating for customer needs. As a key security expert for the AMS team, you will support various sales processes and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing security measures throughout the organization.

What you'll do
- Facilitate security discussions specifically tailored for clients in the Canadian energy and utility sectors.
- Engage in both pre-sales and post-sales processes, which includes addressing security-related inquiries and participating in customer discussions.
- Tackle security challenges associated with the implementation of Agentic AI and Generative AI technologies.
- Deliver presentations on topics such as cloud adoption, security assurance, and AI security at various internal and external industry conferences.
- Oversee the escalation of security incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and ensure effective remediation through post-mortem analysis.
- Recommend design modifications aimed at bolstering the security framework of the cloud infrastructure.
- Play a crucial role in negotiations regarding security clauses in contracts with clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of cloud operations.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and threats in cloud security to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development in cloud security practices.
- Develop comprehensive security documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders to promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years dedicated to cloud security.
- Proven expertise in securing IT, Operational Technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), medical devices, and critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud operations from both a provider's and a customer's perspective.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise cyber defense mechanisms, threat analysis methodologies, and security operations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical security concepts to executive-level audiences.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
- Candidates must be eligible to achieve and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status as per the PSPC Contract Security Program.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in French is an advantage.
- Experience with ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) or Armis is beneficial.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CSSP, or CEH are a plus.
- Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks would be advantageous.
Skills & tools
- Expertise in cloud security architecture and design.
- Proficient in threat analysis and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of AI security, particularly in relation to Generative AI and Agentic AI.
- Strong foundation in enterprise cyber defense strategies.
- Experience with sales lifecycle management and client engagement.
- Competence in security incident response and management.
