Federal Defense, ServiceNow
This role operates at the intersection of technology and mission outcomes, delivering advisory solutions for Department of Defense and Federal customers. You will serve as the technical anchor for ServiceNow Security engagements, ensuring that strategic consulting directly supports operational resilience and compliance objectives. Success in this position requires translating complex security environments into clearly defined value propositions that advance mission priorities.
The position is based in Vienna and supports the Federal defense portfolio on a full-time basis. Compensation includes a base range of $168,750 to $200,000, with equity and variable/incentive compensation components. Travel may reach up to 40% to support key engagements, trade shows, and field support within designated territories. Existing or obtainable Top Secret clearance is required.
What you will do
You will lead discovery initiatives that clarify Federal security mandates, compliance obligations, and current state environments. This understanding will guide the mapping of ServiceNow Security capabilities to specific customer risk profiles and desired end states. You will design and execute proof-of-value scenarios that operate within live Federal environments, collecting and validating data to demonstrate measurable security posture improvements.
You will translate intricate IT, IoT, and OT landscapes into coherent executive narratives. These narratives will highlight AI-driven visibility, security control effectiveness, and tangible operational transformation. You will coordinate closely with sales, product, and delivery teams to advance opportunities from initial qualification through closure, ensuring consistent technical credibility.
You will represent ServiceNow at defense trade shows, executive briefings, and Federal industry events. Your contributions will reinforce ServiceNow as a technical authority on security modernization. You will synthesize Federal customer feedback and market signals to inform product direction, including compliance gaps and areas of differentiation. You will also share proven technical assets, use cases, and best practices to elevate the entire Solution Consulting team's effectiveness. Continuous monitoring of Armis, Veza, and emerging threat intelligence will maintain competitive positioning within Federal security modernization initiatives.
Requirements
You bring 5 or more years of pre-sales consulting, sales engineering, or solutions architecture experience, with a focus on cybersecurity disciplines. You have engaged Federal, DoD, or Federal System Integrator customers and operated within relevant technical environments. You can readily convert intricate technical concepts into clear business impact language for both executive and technical audiences.
Your technical expertise includes enterprise cybersecurity, vulnerability management, detection and response, cloud security platforms, and agentless security architectures. You demonstrate fluency with Linux, virtualization, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and utility scripting, including Python. You understand network architecture, IT/IoT/OT ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint security landscapes within Federal contexts.
Your knowledge extends to AI and machine learning applications in security, including agentic automation and AI-driven detection and analytics. You are familiar with CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST, STIG, CSfC, and other Federal compliance and security frameworks. Your background encompasses IT/IoT/OT security, industrial control systems, critical infrastructure, or utility networks.
You communicate with precision and credibility, rapidly building trust with Federal customers and internal stakeholders. You own the engagement, navigating ambiguity and accepting full responsibility for defense deal success. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience is required for this role.
