About the role
In this pivotal position, you will oversee the Workflows team, focusing on the integration of large language models (LLMs) with code security scanning technologies. Your leadership will be essential in automating the identification and resolution of security vulnerabilities. This role not only involves managing a dedicated team of 3-5 engineers but also requires you to actively participate in the development of our software development kit (SDK), orchestration environment, and a library of pre-built workflows.

What you'll do
- Lead the strategic planning and roadmap development for the Workflows team, collaborating closely with both product and engineering leadership to align on objectives.
- Establish short-term goals for execution while ensuring that a long-term vision for the product is maintained and communicated effectively.
- Mentor and guide senior engineers, fostering their professional development and enhancing their leadership capabilities within the team.
- Actively engage in coding and contribute to the development of technical features, ensuring a strong understanding of the product stack and its intricacies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables, facilitating effective communication and teamwork.
- Analyze and prioritize technical debt and feature requests to optimize team productivity and product quality.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development and project management, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the team.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools that can enhance the capabilities of the Workflows team and improve overall efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing software engineering teams, demonstrating effective leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong understanding of agile development methodologies, with a proven track record of milestone-based delivery.
- A commitment to nurturing and developing engineering talent, with experience in mentoring team members.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following areas: public SDK or API design, data workflow orchestration (such as Argo or Metaflow), or the application of AI technologies in the field of cybersecurity.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A results-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and tactical execution.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to support scalable application development.
- Familiarity with security best practices and frameworks relevant to software development and deployment.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in real-world scenarios, particularly in security contexts.
