What you'll do
- Create engaging product experiences for Family Engagement initiatives, collaborating closely with Product Management, User Research, and Engineering teams.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the design system, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all platforms.
- Utilize analytics tools to assess user behavior, identifying opportunities for growth and areas for product enhancement.
- Partner with product management and engineering teams to outline product roadmaps that align with the overall objectives of the company.
- Collect and analyze user feedback, conducting competitive research in targeted regions to inform design decisions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.
- Participate in user testing sessions to gather insights and iterate on designs based on user interactions and feedback.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in product design, applying them to improve the overall user experience.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative team culture that fosters creativity and innovation.
- Engage in regular design critiques, providing and receiving constructive feedback to refine design solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure that the design aligns with brand messaging and user engagement strategies.
- Document design processes and decisions to maintain clarity and transparency within the team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, with at least 1-2 years focused on consumer product design at scale.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and the impact of your work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach based on the audience.
- Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams to create user-centric solutions.
- Expertise in designing at both the structural and screen levels, with a knack for optimizing complex user flows and individual screens.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, with a strong understanding of design principles.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Figma Make or Claude Code to enhance creativity, streamline workflows, and facilitate prototyping.
- Experience in responsive design for various devices, including web, tablet, and mobile, along with knowledge of diverse design patterns.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor's Degree in fields such as Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Information Design, User Experience, Cognitive Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with analytics tools like Amplitude, Snowflake, and Datadog to inform design decisions.
- 1-2 years of experience in the K12 education sector or within education technology.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic to enhance communication with diverse user groups.

Practical notes
This position is fully remote but requires a minimum of 3 hours of overlap with the team operating across EST and PST time zones. The salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $170,000.
