What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support SeatGeek's ticketing platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features that enhance user experience and drive business goals.
- Optimize existing code and architecture for performance improvements, ensuring that our systems can handle increased traffic and data loads efficiently.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing solutions that minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support as they develop their technical skills and grow within the organization.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our platform and recommending adoption where appropriate.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and improve the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of new features.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information.
- Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and libraries that enhance productivity and streamline workflows across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience with data modeling and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, with a focus on building secure and efficient services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Experience with agile methodologies and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

- Experience in the ticketing or entertainment industry, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this space.
