What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support SeatGeek's ticketing platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features that enhance user experience and drive business goals.
• Optimize existing code and architecture for performance improvements, ensuring that our systems can handle increased traffic and data loads efficiently.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing solutions that minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.

• Contribute to the development of internal tools and libraries that enhance productivity and streamline workflows across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience with data modeling and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, with a focus on building secure and efficient services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Experience with agile methodologies and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
