About the role
Scopely is looking for a UA Data Analyst focused on Marketing Analytics to join their growing team in Barcelona, Spain. This role sits at the intersection of user acquisition strategy and data-driven decision making, providing the marketing organization with the insights needed to make informed choices about campaign investment and audience targeting. The analyst will work closely with marketing managers, product leads, and finance stakeholders to measure campaign performance, optimize advertising spend, and understand user behavior across every stage of the acquisition funnel. You will be responsible for building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and deep-dive analyses that directly inform how Scopely acquires and retains mobile game players across global markets. The position requires someone who can take large, complex datasets and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will play a key part in shaping how marketing dollars are spent and which channels deliver the best long-term value for the business.

What you'll do
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards that track user acquisition campaign performance across multiple advertising channels and geographic markets
- Analyze marketing funnel data to identify drop-off points, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improving conversion rates at each stage of the journey
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design and evaluate A/B tests that measure the impact of creative, audience, and targeting changes
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and manipulate large datasets from advertising platforms and internal data warehouses
- Create weekly and monthly reporting packages that summarize key performance indicators for all active user acquisition campaigns
- Partner with product teams to understand how users acquired through different channels behave, engage, and retain over time
- Monitor daily budget allocation across channels and provide data-backed recommendations to improve return on ad spend and efficiency
- Support the quarterly and annual planning of marketing budgets by building forecasts based on historical campaign performance data
- Work with external data partners and attribution providers to validate, reconcile, and enrich campaign-level data for accuracy and completeness
- Present analytical findings and strategic insights to marketing leadership using clear visual formats and concise, persuasive narratives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related discipline
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a data analyst or marketing analytics role, preferably within mobile gaming or apps
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, filtering, and analyzing large-scale datasets efficiently and accurately
- Demonstrable experience working with user acquisition and attribution platforms such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, or similar tools
- Solid understanding of core marketing metrics including CPI, CPA, ROAS, LTV, D1 and D7 retention, and conversion funnels
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Nice to have
- Experience using Python or R for data analysis, scripting, and automating repetitive reporting tasks and workflows
- Familiarity with mobile gaming genres, player engagement patterns, and the unique dynamics of free-to-play monetization models
- Knowledge of advanced data visualization techniques and storytelling with data beyond standard BI platform defaults
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced gaming, entertainment, or digital media company with global user bases and cross-regional teams
Skills & tools
- SQL for data extraction, transformation, joining tables, and analytical querying across large relational databases
- Google Analytics or Firebase for tracking and analyzing app and web user behavior and acquisition events
- Tableau or Looker for building interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics for stakeholder consumption and review
- Excel or Google Sheets for ad hoc analysis, quick modeling, and presenting summary statistics to cross-functional teams
- Advertising platform interfaces such as Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, or Apple Search Ads for pulling campaign data
- Basic understanding of statistical methods including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals for drawing valid conclusions
