About the role
Scopely is in the process of developing an exciting new cross-platform Strategy/MMO game that features a well-known intellectual property, currently in its early stages. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence the development of various features from inception to launch while collaborating with an experienced team on a significant upcoming project. As a Staff Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding product strategies, advocating for player interests, and transforming data insights into actionable plans across multiple workstreams.

What you'll do
- Oversee the entire feature lifecycle across various concurrent workstreams, managing everything from initial requirements to delivery, post-launch analysis, and performance reporting.
- Serve as the primary advocate for players, ensuring that development decisions resonate with the audience's expectations and addressing any player feedback to enhance the gaming experience.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members on daily tasks and larger projects, ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery across different teams.
- Conduct thorough analyses of game performance metrics and market data, translating insights into actionable recommendations and measurable business goals.
- Effectively communicate complex ideas to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and proactively identifying potential obstacles.
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure product features meet both player needs and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog, aligning it with strategic goals and ensuring that the team is focused on delivering the highest value features.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor products to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Facilitate regular meetings and workshops to gather feedback, brainstorm ideas, and align team efforts toward shared goals.
- Create comprehensive documentation and reports that outline product performance, user feedback, and strategic recommendations for future development.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging experimentation and learning from both successes and failures.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in product management or product development, particularly within software or live service environments.
- Proven track record in developing, launching, and managing mobile RPGs, demonstrating a deep understanding of the genre.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends, even in uncertain situations.
- In-depth knowledge of player behavior and user experience, with a talent for linking user needs to broader product and organizational goals.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing product backlogs, setting objectives, and employing effective methodologies to achieve quality results.
- Experience leading multiple cross-functional teams, mentoring peers, and cultivating a culture of engagement and professional growth.
Nice to have
- Previous experience working on live software products, particularly in a gaming context.
- Familiarity with 4X strategy games or Action RPG titles, enhancing your understanding of the genre.
- A bachelor's degree in Video Game Design and Development or a related field, providing a solid foundation for your role.

Practical notes
- The annual salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is between $169,600 and $253,000 USD.
- Additional compensation may include equity options and performance-based bonuses.
