About the role
You will architect and extend backend services and APIs using Python and Go to power critical integrations for our platform. The role requires you to manage the full lifecycle of new and existing services, APIs, and resources within the Integrations team. You will engage in broad collaboration with cross-functional partners to define product requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions. Participation in on-call rotations is essential to support and troubleshoot urgent, customer-facing production issues around the clock. You will be responsible for designing and implementing user-facing UI components that enable seamless third-party integrations. The position demands a constant pursuit of improvement, where you contribute code, feedback, and process enhancements to foster an agile development culture. You will ensure that all integration touchpoints adhere to strict standards for reliability, security, and performance. Ultimately, you will play a key role in delivering the digital confidence that allows enterprises to release and innovate with speed.

What you'll do
- Architect and scale backend applications using Python and Go to handle high-volume integration workloads.
- Design, implement, and maintain RESTful and webhook-based APIs that connect third-party solutions to the Sauce Labs platform.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and other engineering teams to gather requirements and define integration strategies.
- Write clear, accurate, and user-facing documentation for external APIs and integration procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide rapid response and resolution for customer-facing issues and platform outages.
- Develop and optimize UI components and dashboards that allow users to configure and monitor their integrations efficiently.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies, primarily using Docker, to ensure reliable deployments.
- Manage and troubleshoot message queues and asynchronous processing systems to guarantee data integrity and flow.
- Implement integrations that leverage relational and non-relational database systems for persistent and transient data storage.
- Utilize frontend languages and frameworks to build responsive and intuitive integration interfaces.
- Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure all integrations meet enterprise governance standards.
- Analyze integration metrics and logs to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in platform performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions within the agile team.
- Stay current with industry trends in testing, quality assurance, and integration technologies to propose innovative solutions.
- Support the full deployment lifecycle, from initial build through monitoring and continuous optimization in production.
Requirements
You hold approximately 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience in relevant technical domains. You possess hands-on experience with modern programming languages, specifically Golang and Python, to build robust backend services. You demonstrate a strong ability to read, understand, and effectively integrate with external APIs by reviewing their official documentation. You can author customer-facing documentation that is precise, helpful, and technically accurate for developers and partners. You consistently design new APIs while adhering to company standards and best practices for scalability and maintainability. You are proficient in working with CI/CD pipelines and containerization using Docker to automate build and deployment processes. You have practical experience managing message queues for asynchronous processing tasks to ensure system resilience. You utilize frontend languages and frameworks to construct integration interfaces that are functional and user-friendly. You exhibit strong ownership, taking full responsibility for your work and driving issues to completion with a passion for engineering stellar user experiences. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly due to startup volatility. You understand the structures and challenges of both startup and larger organization dynamics, allowing you to adapt your communication and workflow accordingly. You have a solid grasp of relational and non-relational database systems to model and query data effectively for integration needs. You are familiar with observability tools and monitoring practices to track system health and performance metrics. You have hands-on experience with Jenkins for automation and pipeline management to support continuous integration efforts. You are committed to following security protocols and maintaining a security-first mindset in all design and implementation decisions.
Nice to have
Familiarity with ReactJS for frontend integration tasks is valued. Knowledge of additional programming languages beyond the core stacks is an asset. Experience in startup volatility and larger organization structures is beneficial. Understanding of relational and non-relational database systems is expected. Exposure to observability tools and monitoring practices is recommended. Hands-on experience with Jenkins for automation and pipeline management is also considered a plus.
