What you'll do

• Design and develop communication systems for satellite platforms, ensuring high performance and reliability in data transmission.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate communication systems with satellite subsystems, optimizing overall functionality.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of communication protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and operational requirements.
• Analyze and troubleshoot communication issues, providing timely solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to communication system designs, specifications, and operational procedures.
• Participate in the planning and execution of satellite launches, ensuring that communication systems are fully operational and ready for deployment.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in satellite communication technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in communication system design and implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in satellite communications or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols, modulation techniques, and signal processing.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing communication systems for satellite applications.
• Experience with RF design and testing, including knowledge of antennas and transmission lines.
• Familiarity with software-defined radio (SDR) technologies and their applications in satellite communications.
• Solid understanding of ground station operations and satellite control systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working with small satellite systems or CubeSats.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and satellite mission planning.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB for simulation and analysis purposes.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards related to satellite communications.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using simulation and modeling tools for communication system design.
• Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments.
• Experience with signal analysis tools and software for performance evaluation.
• Knowledge of network protocols and data handling techniques in satellite communications.
• Proficient in using CAD tools for circuit design and layout.
