What you'll do
- Oversee the deployment, management, and maintenance of cloud services, ensuring optimal performance and uptime for all applications and services.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing workflows and development pipelines, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain service integrity.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical data and ensure operational resilience.
- Conduct regular audits of cloud infrastructure and IT systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures, facilitating knowledge sharing and training across the team.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, troubleshooting issues related to cloud services and IT operations.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance our cloud strategy and IT operations.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and implement new tools and technologies that align with organizational goals.
- Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for IT and cloud initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting project deadlines.
- Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT operations team.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing IT and cloud expertise to support organizational objectives and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations, cloud management, or a related role, with a proven track record of managing cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like compute, storage, and networking.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks, with a focus on service management and operational excellence.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk, to ensure system performance and security.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and understanding of microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including experience with firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
