What you'll do

• Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and preferences, ensuring that their vision is accurately captured in the design process.
• Develop comprehensive design concepts that include space planning, color schemes, furniture selection, and material specifications.
• Create detailed design presentations and mood boards to effectively communicate design ideas to clients and stakeholders.
• Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality design drawings and visualizations.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress, ensuring that designs are implemented according to specifications and timelines.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals to ensure seamless execution of design projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to bring innovative ideas to your designs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Prepare project documentation, including budgets, timelines, and progress reports for internal and client review.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the design process, addressing any client concerns or adjustments needed.
• Participate in team brainstorming sessions to contribute to the overall creative direction of the company.
• Mentor junior designers and interns, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects.
• Proficiency in Japanese, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, space planning, and building codes.
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials is a plus.

Nice to have

• Certification from a recognized professional organization, such as NCIDQ or similar.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment or with international clients.
• Knowledge of additional languages, particularly English, is advantageous.
• Previous experience in commercial interior design projects.
• A passion for innovative design and a keen eye for aesthetics.
