What you'll do

Perform data collection, evaluation, and annotation for Japanese language content to support AI model training.

Conduct pairwise comparisons between different AI generated outputs to determine which response is more accurate or appropriate.

Engage in counting tasks that verify the frequency, distribution, or presence of specific linguistic elements in datasets.

Execute object tagging and labeling across multiple content types including audio, video, images, and collected data.

Assess the quality of AI generated Japanese text for grammatical correctness, coherence, and adherence to cultural norms.

Identify and document inconsistencies, errors, or unusual patterns in AI responses using structured review processes.

Apply annotation guidelines consistently to ensure high quality, reliable, and usable training data.

Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and align output with evolving project goals.

Monitor your own throughput and accuracy to meet expectations for quality and productivity in remote settings.

Support the improvement of AI safety and usability by surfacing edge cases and ambiguous language scenarios in Japanese.

Organize and maintain annotated datasets to facilitate efficient retrieval and analysis by technical teams.

Provide feedback on the usability of annotation tools and workflows to improve overall efficiency and clarity.

Track recurring issues or patterns in AI behavior to help prioritize areas for model refinement and data correction.

Contribute to documentation that explains data characteristics and labeling decisions for future reference and onboarding.

Requirements

You must be a native level speaker of Japanese with proven ability equivalent to JLPT N2 to N1 certification.

You must demonstrate strong English proficiency with a TOEIC score of 785 or higher.

You must have AI and data capabilities experience in at least one of the following areas, including machine learning tasks, data collection and preprocessing, data evaluation and quality assurance, and data annotation and labeling.

You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently applying guidelines accurately.

You must have access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable device for performing remote data tasks.

You must be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data in digital formats on a regular basis.

You must be detail oriented and able to maintain high accuracy over repetitive tasks involving language data.

You must be able to manage your own schedule and meet self imposed deadlines in a flexible remote work environment.

Nice to have

Experience in handling audio, video, image, or mixed modality data for annotation projects.

Prior exposure to machine learning workflows or data driven product development.
