Ruby Labs is on the lookout for a meticulous QA Engineer to become a vital part of our team that develops a SaaS QR code generator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the quality of our product by rigorously testing new features, payment processes, and conducting A/B tests before they are rolled out to our users. Your attention to detail will help us deliver a seamless experience to our customers.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Conduct thorough manual testing for new features, bug fixes, and experimental functionalities to ensure high-quality standards.
• Ensure that the product's implementation is consistent with the design specifications, textual content, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform smoke testing, exploratory testing, and regression testing across various desktop and mobile browsers to identify any issues.
• Validate the payment processes, checkout flows, and subscription logic, paying special attention to edge cases that could affect user experience.
• Execute tests for A/B experiments, feature toggles, and track analytics events to ensure accurate data collection.
• Document any bugs found during testing with detailed reproduction steps, relevant screenshots, and an analysis of the potential impact on users.
• Provide regular updates on the readiness of releases, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of the testing status.
• Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and ensure that the final product meets user needs.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss testing strategies and share insights on improving product quality.
• Continuously seek to improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor junior QA team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of quality within the team.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in QA practices to keep our testing processes at the forefront of technology.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in manual quality assurance for SaaS or web-based applications.
• Demonstrated expertise in testing payment systems, billing processes, or subscription management flows.
• Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies, feature flags, and conversion funnel analysis.
• Strong skills in cross-browser and cross-platform testing, ensuring compatibility across desktop and mobile devices.
• Proficiency in the Russian language is essential for effective communication within the team.
• Ability to work autonomously while adhering to the CET time zone for collaboration with the team.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
• Knowledge of performance testing and security testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and their impact on product quality.
• Previous experience in a startup environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using browser developer tools for analyzing console logs, network requests, cookies, and local storage.
• Basic understanding of API testing to validate backend functionality.
• Strong foundation in manual testing methodologies and best practices.
