What you'll do

• Design and develop robust software solutions for Roku's streaming platform, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software components to ensure reliability and performance.
• Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and promote knowledge sharing among team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend or full-stack engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with cloud services and microservices architecture, preferably in a distributed system environment.
• Familiarity with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and data modeling concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies and video processing is a plus.

• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Understanding of software security best practices and experience implementing secure coding techniques.
