As the leading TV streaming platform in North America, we are looking for a Senior Direct Procurement Manager to take charge of strategic sourcing and supplier management for our hardware consumer electronics category. This position is crucial in enhancing our supply chain operations, ensuring that we deliver high-quality electronic components and finished products efficiently and cost-effectively.
In this role, you will collaborate with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Legal, to support the development of new products while overseeing the entire procurement lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Formulate and execute global sourcing strategies for hardware components, focusing on System-on-Chip (SOC), memory, and semiconductors, as well as managing manufacturing services through partnerships with Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM).
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with new suppliers, ensuring they meet performance standards regarding cost, quality, lead time, and capacity.
- Oversee the Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, including leading cost negotiations with suppliers.
- Manage contract negotiations, encompassing Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Master Development and Supply Agreements (MDSA), Statements of Work (SOW), and other supply agreements.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams during the Product Development Process (PDP) to ensure sourcing aligns with technical specifications and project timelines.
- Assist in making design-to-cost decisions during product development and implement cost-saving initiatives for ongoing programs.
- Analyze cost drivers and market trends to optimize pricing and minimize the total cost of ownership (TCO). Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as alternative sourcing options, maintaining buffer stocks, or redesigning products.
- Ensure accurate reporting of Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and pricing data.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance procurement efficiency continuously.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in hardware procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, specifically within the consumer electronics or high-tech sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of components sourcing and the semiconductor supply chain is essential.
- Experience in a technology startup or in scaling a hardware-focused company is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to prepare and present supplier strategies, risk assessments, and cost updates to senior leadership.
- A successful track record in supporting the Product Development Process (PDP) and managing procurement during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases.
- Familiarity with working alongside Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), and international suppliers.
- Strong skills in negotiation, contract management, and analytical thinking.
- Capacity to excel in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Practical notes
For candidates located in California, the anticipated annual salary for this position ranges from $185,000 to $230,000. Compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications, including skills, certifications, and geographic location. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness programs, and paid time off.
Roku promotes a hybrid working model, encouraging in-office collaboration from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays offer flexibility for remote work, except for roles that require full-time office attendance.
