What you'll do
- Design and implement innovative advertising products that cater to hundreds of millions of users, enhancing their experience on the platform.
- Develop and maintain backend services that efficiently manage a vast array of products and transactions at scale.
- Analyze and resolve high-performance challenges within our backend systems, ensuring optimal functionality and speed.
- Take full ownership of projects, from conception through to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including machine learning, backend, and analytics, to refine and expand our ads infrastructure.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of our ad-serving systems, implementing enhancements based on data-driven insights.
- Engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in ad technology and software engineering, applying new knowledge to enhance our systems.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, including internships, with a proven record of delivering production-quality code.
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern programming language such as Go, C#, Java, Python, or C++.
- A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, along with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex issues and optimize system performance.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies, whether in 3D engines, distributed systems, or advertising technology.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with ad-tech concepts and the digital advertising ecosystem.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring and optimization tools.
- Previous work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (Go, C#, Java, Python, C++).
- Experience with backend development and microservices architecture.

Practical notes
This position is based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA. The starting base salary for this role ranges from $153,120 to $196,750 USD, depending on various factors such as your professional background, training, and market demand. All full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that candidates requiring U.S. work authorization related to specific visa categories may not be eligible for this role, and the company may not support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
