What you'll do
- Support stakeholders in the vendor review process, ensuring that the best alternatives are considered and business justifications are clearly articulated.
- Analyze and interpret spending and cost data to understand the Total Cost of Ownership, providing insights that drive financial decisions.
- Collaborate with teams across Roblox, particularly within the Corporate Engineering division, to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
- Work closely with various stakeholder teams to accurately forecast technology requirements as the company scales.
- Utilize your contracting expertise to identify and address business risks in legal documents with potential suppliers.
- Partner with the Legal team to oversee the review and approval process for Master Service Agreements, Terms of Service, NDAs, and End User License Agreements prior to initiating business engagements.
- Lead negotiations to secure competitive pricing and terms, ensuring that Roblox maintains a best-in-class position while minimizing contractual risks.
- Implement ongoing cost reduction initiatives through strategic price negotiations and vendor management.
- Centralize the planning and procurement of Corporate Engineering-related hardware, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and testing devices.
- Engage in critical activities such as validating annual budgets and tracking actual expenditures against forecasts.
- Monitor software maintenance renewal requirements and coordinate with software owners to meet operational needs.
- Analyze software license agreements to ensure compliance with terms and obligations, identifying any necessary product metrics.
- Manage the RFx process, including project management, development of RFx documents, negotiations, and award processes.
- Identify and rectify data inaccuracies that hinder workflow efficiency, implementing scalable solutions to enhance operations.
- Create documentation and quick reference guides related to sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiation processes.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
- At least 6 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and Negotiation.
- A solid understanding of software licensing models and procurement processes.
- Experience in procuring software, tools, and corporate hardware, including laptops and peripherals.
- Familiarity with SaaS, on-premises software, and major OEM vendors such as Microsoft, Apple, and Dell.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or other data analysis tools to manage and analyze large datasets effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
- Extensive experience in negotiation, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.

Practical notes
For this role based in San Mateo, CA, the starting salary ranges from $159,850 to $193,930 USD annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and market conditions. This position requires onsite presence three days a week, with optional attendance on Mondays and Fridays.
