What you'll do
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure the functionality and performance of Roblox products.
- Execute manual and automated testing processes to identify defects and ensure that software meets quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide feedback on product quality.
- Analyze test results and document findings, ensuring clear communication of issues and recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in code reviews and provide input on best practices for quality assurance within the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, ensuring that projects stay on schedule and meet quality benchmarks.
- Assist in the development of quality metrics and dashboards to track product performance and quality trends over time.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in testing tools and methodologies to continuously improve testing processes.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior quality analysts, fostering a culture of quality within the team.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to address any issues that arise during testing or post-release.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on product enhancements and quality initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance testing and tools like LoadRunner or JMeter.
- Knowledge of mobile application testing and best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Previous experience in a gaming or entertainment-focused company.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and how they relate to quality assurance.
