As the Manager of Workplace Services at Roblox, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the workplace experience for our employees. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, you will oversee a variety of essential functions, including office operations, space planning, and event coordination. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a productive and enjoyable environment for all Robloxians, ensuring that our facilities are not only functional but also inviting and conducive to collaboration.

What you'll do

• Oversee the daily operations of the San Mateo offices, ensuring a seamless and efficient workplace experience for all employees.
• Develop and execute a forward-thinking workplace strategy that emphasizes hospitality and data-driven decision-making to enhance overall employee satisfaction and productivity.
• Manage space planning initiatives for the Roblox headquarters and its satellite offices, optimizing layouts to meet business needs.
• Supervise hospitality services, including café operations, coffee bars, and event management, to create a welcoming atmosphere for employees.
• Collaborate closely with executive assistants and support staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
• Lead and mentor a team of employees and subcontractors involved in various facilities activities, such as cleaning, event planning, and ergonomics.
• Utilize data analytics to inform operational strategies and improve efficiency across workplace services.
• Work with internal stakeholders, including IT and People Operations, as well as external vendors, to align on occupancy reports and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Establish and manage plans for space utilization, including seat assignments and adjustments to accommodate changing business needs.
• Oversee ergonomic assessments and solutions to promote employee well-being and productivity.
• Manage offsite parking arrangements and ensure accessibility for all employees.
• Implement and maintain a Facilities Management System to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
• Handle administrative tasks such as tracking expenses, creating purchase orders, and preparing reports on workplace activities.
• Plan and coordinate engaging events for employees, including Roblox Week, Hack Week, and seasonal celebrations, to foster community and connection.
• Support the Safety Team in executing emergency procedures and conducting fire drills, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Develop and implement process and procedure standards to improve workflow and vendor interactions.
• Take ownership of the facilities team's success, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to creating an engaging workplace.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors, including property management, to ensure effective collaboration.
• Be prepared to work evenings and weekends as needed, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule for facility-related issues.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in workplace or corporate facilities management.
• At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams effectively.
• Proven ability to organize and lead teams in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong skills in team development and coaching, fostering a culture of growth and efficiency.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools for space planning.
• Ability to interpret design and construction documents, specifications, and plans.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, providing a high level of service to all stakeholders.
• Resourcefulness and composure under pressure, with a knack for problem-solving.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail to ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities.

Skills & tools

Practical notes

This position is based in San Mateo, CA, and requires a full-time commitment from Monday to Friday. The starting salary for this role ranges from $145,630 to $178,400 USD, depending on various factors such as experience and market conditions. All full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and comprehensive benefits. Please note that the company may have limitations regarding U.S. work authorization for certain visa categories.
