What you'll do

• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of Roblox's information architecture and navigation systems.
• Develop metrics that quantify user experience quality, navigation efficiency, and content discoverability within the Roblox app.
• Analyze user journeys and navigation behaviors to identify areas for improvement, translating findings into actionable product strategies.
• Establish frameworks for decision-making that evaluate trade-offs across various user journeys and product objectives, ensuring a holistic approach to user experience.
• Utilize experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling to assess platform-wide initiatives and cross-surface user experience investments.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Design, to influence product strategy and enhance user interactions on the platform.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to build scalable measurement frameworks that enable ongoing monitoring of user experience health and the identification of emerging opportunities.
• Drive data-informed decision-making at scale by providing insights that help teams understand the impact of navigation and information architecture changes.

Requirements

• An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Data Science or a related quantitative discipline, ideally within consumer-facing products.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R, with strong analytical and technical skills for working with large datasets.
• Expertise in statistical analysis, causal inference, and experimentation methodologies, with a proven track record of applying these techniques to influence product outcomes.
• Ability to independently tackle complex, high-impact problems using first-principles thinking to develop innovative solutions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Design, to align on strategy and prioritize investments.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in user experience optimization.
• Experience in the gaming industry or with digital platforms that prioritize user engagement.
• Knowledge of user experience design principles and best practices.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in statistical analysis and modeling tools, including SQL, Python, and R.

Practical notes

This position is based in our San Mateo, CA headquarters, where you will work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with optional presence on Mondays and Fridays. The starting base salary for this role ranges from $263,670 to $322,820 USD, depending on various factors such as experience and market demand. In addition to the base salary, full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
