What you'll do

• Design and implement A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of new features and guide product development decisions.
• Create and maintain data pipelines that facilitate analytics, reporting, and modeling requirements.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to explore user behavior, uncover growth opportunities, and address complex business challenges.
• Contribute to the team's strategic roadmap by pinpointing critical areas for analysis and experimentation.

Requirements

• A PhD or equivalent in Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in SQL and experienced in using programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with big data technologies, including Spark, Hive, and Airflow, for developing data pipelines.
• Strong background in experimental design, including A/B testing and causal inference methodologies.
• Proven ability to translate complex datasets into meaningful insights and effectively communicate them to diverse audiences.
• Experience working with large language models (LLMs) or agentic flows is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate findings clearly.
• A passion for social platforms and understanding user engagement dynamics.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience in the gaming or social media industries.

Practical notes

The starting salary for this position ranges from $185,860 to $221,380 USD, depending on various factors such as experience, location, and market demand. This role is based in San Mateo, CA, and requires onsite presence three days a week, with optional attendance on Mondays and Fridays.
