About the role

Bamboohr is seeking a skilled Data DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Praha 8, Palmovka. This position is a contract role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about data management and cloud infrastructure. What you'll do

Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines that facilitate the collection, processing, and storage of large datasets.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure that data solutions meet their needs.
Automate deployment processes and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline data operations and enhance productivity.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure high availability and performance of data systems.
Implement best practices for data security and compliance, ensuring that sensitive information is protected at all times.
Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy and manage data solutions effectively.
Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to promote high-quality code standards.
Engage in continuous learning and stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the data engineering and DevOps fields.
Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure the infrastructure is optimized for data processing and storage.
Assist in the evaluation and selection of new tools and technologies that can enhance our data capabilities.
Provide support during data migrations and system upgrades to minimize disruptions and ensure data integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, DevOps, or a related role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation and automation tasks.
Experience with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or similar frameworks.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of cloud services and platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and CI/CD tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and concepts.
Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
