What you'll do
- Lead and develop Replit's communication strategy, including the structure of the team and management of external agencies.
- Enhance the company's narrative as Replit expands its influence in AI, developer tools, enterprise solutions, and international markets.
- Oversee communication efforts for major company announcements, product rollouts, customer success stories, and strategic partnerships.
- Clearly convey Replit's role as a transformative software creation platform that enables users to develop applications using natural language.
- Create engaging narratives that highlight AI-driven software development, improved developer productivity, enterprise integration, and future work trends.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and the executive leadership team on positioning, media outreach, and internal communication strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets covering technology, business, AI, enterprise, development, policy, and international news.
- Work alongside product, engineering, marketing, sales, legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive communication efforts.
- Manage internal communications, including company-wide meetings, leadership updates, and employee communications.
- Address both proactive and reactive communication needs, including crisis management and sensitive issues.
- Prepare executives and spokespersons for media engagements, conferences, and internal presentations.
- Support a global communication strategy aimed at increasing brand awareness in European and Asian markets.
- Keep abreast of developments in the AI, software, and policy arenas to guide Replit's communication strategies.
- Promote a communication culture that emphasizes speed, clarity, creativity, and sound judgment.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
- A minimum of 15 years in communications, public relations, media, or corporate affairs, particularly at a VP level.
- Proven experience in establishing or significantly enhancing a communications function within a rapidly growing tech company.
- A track record of working directly with founders, CEOs, and senior leaders across various functions.
- Established connections with media professionals in technology, business, enterprise, AI, development, and policy sectors.
- Experience in managing external agencies and executing global communication initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, tailored for diverse audiences including users, developers, and policymakers.
- A solid understanding of the AI landscape and its implications for software development and enterprise efficiency.
- Proficiency in various communication disciplines, including external and internal communications, media relations, executive communications, and crisis management.
- Ability to distill complex technical information into clear and engaging narratives.
- Experience in cross-functional leadership, with the capacity to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Capability to maintain a strategic outlook while managing detailed tasks effectively.
- Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
