About the role
This position focuses on refining and optimizing the internal processes that drive the development of the Terran R vehicle. You will act as a bridge between engineering and IT to build, automate, and deploy tools that improve how our teams design and test complex hardware. In this capacity, you will analyze existing operational workflows to uncover bottlenecks and define scalable technical strategies for improvement. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that the solutions you create are aligned with high-priority engineering objectives. The role emphasizes the translation of ambiguous requirements into structured systems that enhance reliability and predictability. You will be responsible for owning the end-to-end delivery of automation that reduces manual overhead and accelerates team productivity. This position demands comfort with ambiguity and the ability to drive technical change in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Your work will directly support the company's mission to enable large-scale, efficient production of launch vehicles.

What you'll do
- Investigate current operational workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies and define clear requirements for technical solutions.
- Partner with Software and IT teams to translate business needs into prioritized infrastructure initiatives.
- Design and deliver prototypes that demonstrate the feasibility of new tools before full-scale implementation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional groups to deploy automation that strengthens collaboration and data integrity.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of process and tool development, including scoping, execution, and production support.
- Establish repeatable methods for evaluating tool performance and user impact to guide future enhancements.
- Lead the integration of new systems into existing environments while maintaining stability and reliability.
- Utilize scripting and configuration techniques to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual errors.
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and IT to ensure alignment on standards and best practices.
- Document processes, architectures, and decisions to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
- Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks to determine their applicability to complex hardware development contexts.
- Drive adoption of new tools by working directly with end users to gather feedback and refine the user experience.
- Monitor deployed systems to identify opportunities for optimization and scalability improvements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to develop and launch processes that impact an entire department or company.
- Show experience collaborating with internal IT and DevOps teams to design and implement functional tools.
- Have a documented history of managing at least one full project lifecycle from initial concept through completion.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills and the capacity to solve complex problems in dynamic situations.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Maintain a strong commitment to following defined processes and contributing to their evolution.
- Display ownership of deliverables, timelines, and outcomes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Comply with company policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements as they apply to engineering tools.
Nice to have
- Hold a Master of Science degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Bring practical background in the design, integration, testing, and operation of complex systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scripting to automate workflows and analyze data.
- Have direct experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools.
