About the role
Relativity is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead fixed asset management and drive financial process improvements. You will oversee a team in a high-growth manufacturing environment, ensuring financial integrity while supporting the development of the Terran R rocket. In this capacity, you will be responsible for establishing robust controls and strategic direction for fixed asset activities. The role requires a proactive leader who can translate complex requirements into actionable plans for cross-functional teams. You will partner closely with engineering and operations to ensure asset management practices align with production needs and project timelines. This position offers the opportunity to build a critical financial function from the ground up in a dynamic aerospace setting. Your work will directly influence the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting related to major capital investments. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to combine technical accounting expertise with leadership that empowers the broader finance organization.

What you'll do
- Architect and execute the end-to-end fixed asset roadmap to support the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Cultivate and direct a high-performing accounting team, focusing on development, delegation, and performance management.
- Streamline month-end close activities by enhancing procedures specific to fixed asset accounting and valuation.
- Drive the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system enhancements to strengthen data integrity.
- Pioneer a comprehensive fixed asset tagging methodology across all three operational company sites.
- Serve as the definitive liaison and primary point of contact for external auditors during fixed asset examinations.
- Analyze complex financial data to generate insights that support capital expenditure decisions and operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to modernize and standardize fixed asset management practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) regarding property, plant, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for fixed asset policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
- Coordinate the collection and validation of asset data to ensure accuracy in financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Implement best practices for the capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets within the manufacturing context.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to asset lifecycle management and report results to senior leadership.
- Act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and training to finance and operations partners on asset-related matters.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrate a background in fast-growing startups or the manufacturing sector, understanding their unique challenges.
- Show proven experience in direct management, including leading and developing professional staff.
- Exhibit strong financial data analysis skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Achieve advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups for complex datasets.
- Maintain a demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
- Apply a meticulous approach to detail ensuring high accuracy and compliance in all financial activities.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented culture while also taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
- Understand the importance of internal controls and compliance within a regulated manufacturing industry.
Nice to have
- Bring experience from Big 4 or regional firm audit and assurance engagements.
- Hold an active or inactive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
- Possess technical knowledge of GAAP fixed asset accounting standards and application.
- Have hands-on experience with Infor LN ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
