Director, Finance Supply Chain and Material Management

About the role

You will lead the Supply Chain Finance team and establish the strategic direction for inventory financial planning, materials spend management, and manufacturing bill of materials cost analysis. This role requires you to drive end-to-end improvements across finance, supply chain, and materials management regarding the financial oversight of the bill of materials and its evolution throughout the vehicle lifecycle. You will own the development and integrity of financial models that support capital investment decisions and long-term strategic planning for the Terran R vehicle. You will partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to validate assumptions and ensure alignment between technical requirements and financial outcomes. In this capacity, you will shape key decisions related to supplier selection, cost trade studies, and production ramp planning using rigorous financial analysis. You will act as the primary financial steward for materials and inventory, translating business strategy into actionable plans for the Supply Chain Finance team. Your work will directly influence how resources are allocated, tracked, and optimized to meet both mission and margin objectives at Relativity.

Drive end-to-end financial improvements across finance, supply chain, and materials management for the bill of materials and its evolution over the vehicle lifecycle.

Own the development and maintenance of financial models used for capital investment decisions and long-term strategic planning for Terran R.

Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to validate technical assumptions and align them with financial outcomes.

Shape decisions related to supplier selection, cost trade studies, and production ramp planning through rigorous financial analysis.

Act as the primary financial steward for materials and inventory, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and accountability in financial reporting.

Translate business strategy into actionable plans for the Supply Chain Finance team, linking operational needs to financial performance.

Monitor key performance indicators, manage budgets, and provide insights that guide resource allocation and optimization.

Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate financial discipline into product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations.

Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging financial insights to support strategic initiatives and create long-term value.

Ensure robust financial controls and processes to safeguard assets and improve visibility into manufacturing and materials costs.

Support fundraising, corporate development, and board-level materials by providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance forecasting, planning, and cost management across the supply chain.

Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the finance and supply chain organization.

Requirements

Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in finance, supply chain, or materials management, with at least five years in a leadership role managing people and budgets.

Demonstrated experience managing financial planning and analysis for complex hardware products, including bill of materials development, inventory valuation, and cost tracking.

Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and operations to drive financial outcomes.

Strong expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and the use of enterprise systems to support decision-making and reporting.

Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into clear insights and recommendations.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate financial concepts into actionable business language.

Deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures, supply chain dynamics, and inventory management principles in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and internal control in financial and operational reporting.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to export control and security considerations.

Ability to relocate to Long Beach, California, and work onsite primarily at the Relativity headquarters.

Nice to have

Prior experience in the aerospace, defense, or space industries.

Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and supply chain optimization software.

Knowledge of launch vehicle development, orbital mechanics, or space mission operations.

Experience managing fundraising, investor relations, or corporate development activities.
