About the role

You will define the strategic approach to election integrity, violent extremism, and fraud within the Reflection lab. This role requires you to translate complex threat landscapes into concrete, actionable evaluation methodologies. You will own the end-to-end governance of sensitive content review, ensuring operational rigor and consistency. You will act as the definitive internal authority, shaping policy interpretation and enforcement standards. This position demands a high degree of autonomy and judgment in ambiguous situations. You will be responsible for calibrating human and automated review teams to a shared understanding of risk. Ultimately, your work will safeguard the open release of our models against real-world harm vectors.

What you'll do

• Serve as Reflection's central subject matter expert for election integrity, coordinated influence operations, terrorism and violent extremism, and fraud and deception, establishing the foundational definitions and risk thresholds for the lab.
• Architect and deploy automated evaluation frameworks in collaboration with Safety research and Safety postraining teams, focusing on hard-to-detect edge cases and novel threat vectors.
• Assume full ownership of the operational lifecycle for content evaluation, including queue prioritization, quality assurance protocols, escalation management, and strict SLA adherence.
• Act as the primary liaison and capacity anchor for external review partners, providing advanced training, calibration sessions, and ongoing performance support.
• Conduct deep dives on novel, ambiguous, or high-impact flagged content to inform enforcement decisions and surface systemic policy or product weaknesses.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to iterate on detection models, cryptographic hash-matching pipelines, and fraud pattern recognition systems, embedding these safeguards into pre-release red-teaming.
• Authoritatively validate that model outputs meet Reflection's stringent election integrity, violent extremism, and fraud risk thresholds prior to any open weights deployment.
• Create and maintain living documentation, including decision trees, playbooks, and SOPs, to ensure scalable and consistent enforcement across all review channels.
• Synthesize insights on emerging adversarial tactics and threat actor behavior, translating findings into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
• Orchestrate external reporting and information-sharing obligations with bodies such as GIFCT, election authorities, and financial-sector partners in compliance with legal mandates.
• Monitor the global regulatory and threat intelligence landscape, adapting workflows to account for major election cycles and rapidly evolving fraud schemes.
• Champion the psychological safety and wellbeing of the review team by instituting robust support structures and proactive resource management.

Requirements

You must possess deep subject matter expertise in one or more domains including election integrity, disinformation and influence operations, counterterrorism and violent extremism, or fraud and deception such as scams, phishing, impersonation, financial fraud, and other deceptive schemes. You must have prior experience in trust & safety or content moderation operations where you directly engaged with election-related harms, terrorist or violent extremist content, or fraud and related harm areas. You must have hands-on experience managing or coordinating content review operations, overseeing quality assurance and workflow management for sensitive content. You must demonstrate a proven ability to review high-risk content, including terrorist and violent extremist material, and make enforcement decisions in line with platform policies and legal standards. You must have a strong track record of partnering with technical and engineering teams to implement detection and mitigation strategies. You must be comfortable working with graphic, violent, and psychologically disturbing material on a regular basis, maintaining composure and analytical rigor. You must have experience defining and applying clear policy thresholds to determine content removal or restriction. You must be able to communicate complex threat assessments to non-technical stakeholders, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies. You must be committed to operating within strict ethical guidelines and Reflection's policies on handling sensitive content.
